In this sacred transmission, we journey beyond the layers of complex post-traumatic stress disorder and anxiety, guided by the ancient symphony of a Humpback Whales song and the timeless language of Mudra. This article will awaken your inner stillness by teaching you how to hum with intention. Resonating with the Earth’s aquatic elders, the Shamans of the Ocean weaving sound healing currents through your nervous system and using sacred hand gestures. You are not broken. You are remembering. You are healing!
After years and years of a trauma-filled life, my stress and anxiety were out of control. I didn’t like the feeling when my whole body would shake. I couldn’t even sit still for one second without erratically shaking my foot. It was so irritating. It was time for me to find a solution! A solution with results! This works quickly and is super easy to do! This is so powerful I want the whole world to know about it! No more western medications to mask my symptoms! That is not a solution for me.
I just LOVE how energy works so divinely when I am looking for a solution to something. The perfect, exact information I need just magically comes to me!!! Just like you are reading this article right now.
What is my solution? I hum like a Humpback Whale while doing a Mudra! I know this may sound kind of weird, but this practice has humongous results! When I first started this practice, I would have to do Whale Mudra Humming for a couple of minutes before my anxiety attack would stop. Now that I have been practicing the Whale Mudra Humming for a while, my anxiety attack stops within ONE Second. Sound healing is a miracle for sure! Are you ready to hum your way into tranquility?
Did you know that the simple practice of humming balances your nervous system? Yes, it’s true! It transforms you from crisis mode (a sympathetic nervous system) to a peaceful, rest and digest mode (a parasympathetic nervous system). The problems start when you get stuck in one of the nervous system modes. This can bring on or exacerbate pain!
If your anxiety is causing you sleepless nights, do the Whale Mudra Humming before bed and slumber away into a peaceful bliss!
Here are the Whale Mudra Humming instructions:
Step 1 – Humming
Start by turning on some Humpback Whale music. There are lots of YouTube videos with good Humpback Whale sounds. Then start humming while listening to the pitch of the whale sounds. Try to hum with the Humpback Whales pitch. Keep practicing until it feels smooth and natural to you. And you are in tune with the Humpback Whale sounds.
If you are in a pain flare-up up you may have difficulties when you try this low-pitched humming for the first time. Your humming might be at a higher pitch or broken. Especially if your pain is in the neck or jaw area. Just keep at it, and eventually your humming will become smooth and on pitch. And you may notice that your pain is gone!
Bonus – Humpback Whale humming also heals your vagus nerve! We all could use a little of that, right?
Step 2 – The Mudra
Just what is a Mudra? The word ‘Mudra” is Sanskrit and means a mark, seal, or gesture. Mudras are an ancient yogic tradition. They can be healing, calming, and optimizing!
There are many types of Mudras, but the most popular are Hand Mudras. So think of it like yoga for your hands. Mudras are hand positions. Positions that balance your energy, in your mind and body.
Your fingers are put into specific positions that form a Mudra. Your five fingers are connected to the five elements of your body. Balancing you and healing you.
For Whale Mudra Humming, we will be working with the Apana Vayu Mudra, which is a combination of the Apana Mudra and the Vayu Mudra.
How to do the Apana Vayu Mudra:
First, bend your index finger and touch the tip of it to the base of your thumb.
Next, touch your middle fingertip and your ring fingertip to the tip of your thumb finger.
Now let your little finger be in a straight position.
See both of the pictures above for reference on the finger position placement.
If you have difficulty with this hand position, keep trying to do it like exercises for your hand. It will get easier with time and practice. Just like when you are doing regular yoga. It can be hard at first, but then with practice it gets easier. You could also ask someone for help. To put your fingers into the Apana Vayu position for you. You should get results pretty quickly.
Once you are comfortable doing this Hand Mudra position, you can do the final step. Place your Apana Vayu Mudra flat onto your body right over your sacral chakra area. Just below your naval. With your thumbs up and your little finger facing down. Make sure your mudras are close together. You are kind of forming a diamond shape with both hands. See the image below.
Step 3 – Putting it all together
Now let’s combine these two practices.
Do your Humpback Whale Humming (you can play the Humpback Whales Sounds if that helps you, I still do).
Now put your hands into the Apana Vayu Mudra. Place your Apana Vayu Mudra on your body in the sacral area.
Hum and hold the Mudra positions for as long as you can or until your anxiety attack stops, whichever comes first. If you are not able to do the Whale Mudra Humming until your anxiety attack stops. Wait a little while. Then, when you feel ready, do another round of Whale Mudra Humming. Keep repeating this until your anxiety attack is gone. With time and practice, Whale Mudra Humming becomes easier and easier. And it works faster and faster. Remember, you can get results in just ONE second! Just don’t give up.
If I can do it, YOU can do it!!!
Today, my life is so different. I hardly ever have anxiety attacks, and my stress is lower. And the physical pain in my body… what pain??? LOL! I hardly have any pain anymore either!!! Yay! That is a huge win for me. The foot shaking is gone!!! I feel peaceful and relaxed, I rarely felt that way before I started the practice of Whale Mudra Humming!!!
Are you ready to try it?
